Natural Born Instinct??
Are kids born with "INeedADrinkBeforeBed" Syndrome? My oldest has this down pat. He could be sleep walking to bed and all of a sudden...."I NEED A DRINK!"
Where did he learn this? Not from his Daddy and me.....his brother is smaller than him and will probably catch "INeedADrinkBeforeBed" Syndrome soon. Is it in his genes? Did his daddy or me do this before we went to bed?
It is funny when you think about it. Any ideas on why this phenomenon happens?

It definitely must be in the genes.
It is also a stalling means to avoid going to bed. John Michael always wanted a drink before bed, too. Nolan got this from his Daddy.
I remember John Michael wanting a drink, wanting to be read to and he always wanted to be tucked in. He also wanted me to leave his door open, so it was not too dark.
Maybe someone read him one of my favorite children's books . . .No Dragons on My Quilt. It's about a little boy spending the night with his grandma who dreams up more and more reasons not to go to sleep quite yet. In the end she makes him a quilt with all the "excuses" on it. It even includes applique patterns and direction for making the quilt. A great book to share with grandma.
I don't know, but I have to have a drink before bed, too. (Water, I mean, not a beer!) I get thirsty at night so I keep a glass of water on the bedside table. I know I get that from my dad though. Does he do it more often in the summer?
